At this time of year, we hear people talk about making RESOLUTIONS. A resolution is a vow to change something, to do or not do something, to change in the coming year with the purpose of making us "better" in some way. The tradition of making resolutions dates back thousands of years and spans across cultures and religions, so there must be something to this, yes? What is it about the beginning of a new year that gives us hope that we can be better than we are now? Ideas to ponder...So, with all this talk about resolutions, what are some of yours? Remember, a resolution is a made decision, something we are definitely going to do or not do. Something very different than an aspiration...So, what's it going to be? Please post and comment. Thanks! |

My main resolution for this year is to keep my grades in the A range especially in Ela and science. Another goal I have is to go to Newport, Rhode Island again. This was one connecting part of our family on this amazing vacation. New year!

I agree with Mrs.Simons because there is something about a new year to make us feel good. I think its because of a fresh new start to throw away all the bad things in 2015.

I have made some New Year’s Resolutions. Some of my resolutions include being nicer to my sister, to hand in all off my homework, to get better grades, and to get better at soccer. The beginning of a new year gives people hope that we can be better than we are now, because it’s a clean slate to start on. So I hope to do a better job at school and at home.

I don't usually make New Years resolutions, but this year, mine is "I will try my hardest to get very ripped and fit." This is because i am inspired by my new Fitbit Charge HR that i got for Christmas. Also, I wast to be super fast in the track meets and soccer games in the spring. I think it is important to have a goal so that you can accomplish some stuff you want to do. I also resolve to be as nice as possible to all. :)

My New Years resolution is to eat better. Everybody is always like you eat better look at yourself there is no need. Actually there is, I have been working out at this gym for five years now and I still have twigs for arms. If I eat better then I won't have twig arms and I will look better. Unfortunately I'm not very good at the whole "New Years resolution" thing so probably my arms will sadly remain like twigs.

I have two New Years resolutions for 2016. The first one is to be more supportive of my older sister, Emma, and help her out when she is struggling with something, because she always goes out of her way to help me. The second one is to show even more respect to my parents, since they deserve respect for all of the sacrifices they make for me. These two resolutions will make me a better person throughout the extent of 2016.

My resolutions are to help more around the house. Such as doing the dishes more often. My second resolution would be to be nicer to my sister and not tease her as much as I usually do. My last resolution would be to read harder, more challenging books.

My New Year's resolution is to not go on my phone as often anymore since I go on it almost ever single minute. I personally think I'm a little too addicted to my phone. Also, another resolution is that I want to get at least am -A in ELA for the rest of the year. To do this, I'll redo reader responses if needed and hand in my reading logs on time. These are some of my New Year's resolutions.

It's 2016 and its time for a refreshing start to all our lives. Resolutions can help us guide us through the year and can help us be better people. Just because you have a resolution doesn't mean you'll always do it though. People have all these complex resolutions but most of the time they're not done because either get too lazy or they just set a too complex goal. Resolutions don't have to be hard, they can be just as simple as being a better person or doing something better or trying to improve something. If you thought you had a good year in 2015 take a look at the positives and build on them or do the things it takes to have an even better 2016
