As you have begun to read A Long Walk To Water, we are slowly beginning to see how much of an effect water has on our every-day lives, regardless of where we live in the world. When I was in middle school, oil, was a major resource that the world highly valued and still does today. As you will learn, water, is emerging as a major resource that is needed by all. Why might both water and oil be so highly valued? How are they similar, how are they different?

Oil is important because it gives us energy to live our lives. Water is crucial because it helps with our coffee, showering, and staying hydrated. I love water. I mean water's everywhere. It makes up 70% of our body. Flavored water is sweet too. Water is an amazing thing.

What and oil are as important as they are because of what they can do for use. While water is the source of life that provides us with energy. Oil helps power our cars, lubricates different items to make them move quicker, and also can help power electricity. So they are similar in that they help us survive, although water is a necessity and oil is not.

Both Oil and Water are highly valued as they should be. Water is highly valued because it is a necessity to live and oil is highly valued because it is a huge source of energy used by people across the globe. Both of these have the potential of running out someday which will leave us with not a lot of survival options.

Water and oil are so highly valued because, currently, we need both to survive. Before you get technical with me about saying we need oil to survive, think about it. (I am being metaphorical, but still.) Oil is extremely important to us, being considered the most important natural resource. According to wintershall.com, "[Oil] is used to generate heat, drive machinery and fuel vehicles and airplanes. Its components are used to manufacture almost all chemical products, such as plastics, detergents, paints, and even medicines." In this day and age, all this is vital to our daily lives. Without vehicles and planes, we'd have no access to long-distance transportation (Is that even a thing? Oh well, you know what I mean). If the manufacturing of medicine stopped, we would be left without quick access to treatment for the sick. This could cause widespread disease! Without oil, our realities would be obliterated and we would be completely lost. (This is why the Amish would be best to go to if the national power grid was ever knocked out. They know how to operate without modern technology. Think the 5th Wave, people.) I know I'm getting quite over excited, but that's how important oil is. The violence going on in the Middle East isn't entirely religious conflict, too. Saudi Arabia is one of the most oil-rich places on Earth and, according to forbes.com, "Oil has always been a weapon in the Middle East. A political weapon, that is, used by major oil producers to fight enemies and appease friends." Getting to our other liquid, I shouldn't even have to explain why water is vital. But, in case you didn't know, we need water to live- literally. Thewaterpage.com says, "A person can survive only three to five days without water, in some cases people have survived for an average of one week. It is not recommended that anyone try this at home. Once the body is deprived of fluids the cells and organs in the body begin to deteriorate." Yikes. I would say water and oil are similar in the way that we depend on them both with our lives, metaphorically (oil) and literally (water). I would say they're different because water is drinkable and the oil we use to power our transportation, manufacturing and such... is not. Hopefully you knew that. Don't drink crude oil, kids!

Water and oil are highly valued and needed because they help us survive in our everyday lives. Water is needed for us to live. If we don't have water, we can't survive. With oil it helps us live because it lubricates the mechanical parts in a car. Also fossil fuels power stuff. They are similar because they are both needed and they are both liquids. they are different because water is drinkable and oil is not. Also water cant power things but oil can.

Water and oil are both highly valued because they bith play a huge factor in our everyday lives. Water is needed to drink, cook with, and clean with. Like water oil is also needed to cook, an other kind of oil is used to power cars. Water is different from oil because water is more needed during the day.

Water and oil are the same because they are both needed a lot in the world. Oil fuels cars and tons of machines and water fuels Billions of humans. Water and oil are different because oil and water are different resources and used for different things. oil is mostly gotten for wealthier people because they would need to power their machines and they probably already have water.

Water is highly valued because it is a resource that we need to survive without we would die. Oil is highly valued because we use it to drive our cars everyday. With out oil we wouldn't be able to get anywhere unless we walked. Our airplanes would stop running. We would be living in a totally different environment. Oil and water are similar because they are both very important resources that we use in our everyday lives. They are different because oil is not necessarily something that we need to live but water is.

Water and oil are essential to our living. Oil is the main part of our cars and many other things if we didn't have all of our cars wouldn't be able to run or cars require Oil to move. Water is the same we are like car we need water to keep us hydrated and functional. Water is the most key element in survival a person can survive a week without food but a person can only survive without water for 3 days. That is why i think that water and oil are important to society.

Water and oil are so highly valued in our everyday lives because we use them everyday to get somewhere or do something. Water and oil are both similar because they both fuel our bodies and machines to do our job. They are different by how we use them for ourselves. That is how oil and water are both similar and different.

Water is needed in our lives because every day we drink water to keep our bodies going because our bodies need water to live. And oil is needed not to keep our bodies alive necessarily but we use oil to power things that we use in our everyday lives to help us do things easier that would usually be hard without technological tools. So they're both somewhat different and somewhat related.

Water is useful because it is needed to survive, (if you go over three days without it you will die), it can put out fires, and much more. Oil is useful because it can power cars and more. Their main similarity is that they are both liquids, but they are different as oil is more energy, while water is a resource needed to survive.

Water is a highly valued liquid because without it you would die of dehydration. 75% of humans bodies are water. We need it to function properly. Oil is another high priced liquid because of how you can use it. It runs almost all our vehicles. Wealthy businessmen sell it a high price to make a profit. They sell it to the military and everyday citizens to run their cars, planes, jets and other vehicles. Oil and water are similar because of how highly people value them. They are also similar because they both run a type of machine. Water helps to run the human body, while oil runs vehicles. They are different because water is digestible, while oil if consumed could have drastic side affects.

Water and oil are highly valued, and for good reason. We need water to live - without it we wouldn't be here. Oil is needed for a fuel source. Both water and oil are similar because they are both valuable liquids that we use every day. However, they are different because oil isn't exactly needed for life - we could still get by without cars and planes. Of course, without water, there is no life.

Water and oil help us humans in SO MANY ways. To start, oil is a massive advantage to the process of fueling cars. Did you know that a 42 gallon barrel of oil produces 19.4 MILLION gallons of gasoline? Yes, that is a lot of gasoline if you were wondering. But water, on the other hand, is needed for us to survive. We NEED water to help regain sweat when the weather is scorching hot. People NEED water if there is a drought in the area that they live. But most of all, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US needs water in our everyday lives, because without it, we aren't who we are. As you can see, oil is mostly a WANT in the United States of America, for fueling cars and generating electricity, but water is a NEED, since it is one of the most important components of life.

Oil may be very helpful as we use it for cooking and we use it to power cars and other transportation vehicles but it is not a necessity for survival like water

Both water and oil are valuable today because both are in short supply in a lot of places in the world. Oil is in high demand, and it will soon run out. Water is also in high demand, but the world probably won't be completely out of water in the foreseeable future. I noticed that in "Long Walk to Water," people were drilling for water just like they would for oil!

Water and oil are very important to us because they both provide energy for us. Water supplies humans with physical energy, while oil supplies us with things like light energy or car energy (fuel). If we were to stop using oil for just one day I think that it would be like Nya's situation or Salva's before the rebels attacked.

Oil is a major resource in America that we use to use our cars, fly a plane to get places, and much much more. Although they are both important, we could live without oil and use other resources but water is a necessity of life.

Water and oil are highly valuable because they are both used in our everyday lives. Oil is used to put it in our cars to fuel them so that we can get places faster. We use water everyday to survive by drinking it and being able to clean ourselves. Those important reasons why water and oil are highly valuable to use in our everyday lives.

Oil and water are very important because, we use them every day. Oil is becoming scarce because we used more than we need. And for water, we don't have filters everywhere. Water helps us live and oil gets us heat and electricity. But, they are different because, oil needs to be formed over millions of years ago. And water doesn't need that.

Water and oil are both highly valued. Water is highly valued because you have to have it to survive. Oil is also highly valued because it is hard to get and you need it to run cars. They are both similar because they are both liquids and you can make electricity with both. They are different though because water is drinkable where as you would become sick if you drank oil. Also oil is worth much more money because it is harder and costs more money to get it from one place to another. Another reason they are different is that the earth is running out of oil but water is just scarce in some places.

Water and oil are sources that are needed by many people. People all around the world need water to survive and people need oil for electricity and heat. Water and oil are different though. For instance, if we ever run out water that is a big deal because we don't have any other sources to replace it. If we ever run out of oil we can find a source to replace it.

Oil and water are both huge necessities to everyday life, one way or another. We use oil in many ways, like to fuel our cars and school buses. Well water is necessary for survival, without it we die. As I was saying before, they are both huge necessities to our lives because if we didn't have oil our factories would stop running, our cars and airplanes wouldn't work, we wouldn't be able to travel! Water as I said before is necessary for survival but not just for hydration but for food as well. Without water we wouldn't be able to farm or grow plants so we would have a shortage of vegetables and other things grown on farms. Oil and water are also both in high demand on Earth and sadly, we are running out of both. Oil is a fossil fuel and a non-renewable source., so when we run out, we're out. On the other it seems like we have so much water, in fact we're surrounded by it, but we actually don't because the majority of that water is salt water and yes we still use that by not as much as clean water. As you can see, water and oil are both in high demand in our modern world because someday we might run out!

Water and oil are both highly valued in this generation,I mean, there are wars over it! Water is a necessity to survive, you need a daily "intake" of at least 2 liters or half a gallon. We use water for cleaning, and as I said, to live. Whereas oil is less important, yet still a HUGE part of practically everything. We use it to for electricity, to fuel cars, planes, boats, and many more vehicles or sources of transportation. We also use it for cooking. Oil is becoming scarce because we use more than is needed. It's a fossil fuel aka non-renewable so when we're out there is no more, nada, zip, zero. Water is hard too though, there are few filturation systems in poor countries, such as Africa where there are lots of people and lots of filthy water. They are similar, Water and oil, be used the human race is dependent ok both and we are almost ungrateful for both.

Many animals live in water and we need water to clean and live our life. On the other hand, oil is also important. Oil runs cars and vehicles which help people get around and they support jobs. Getting oil produces major jobs which can help many people. Oil and water are very similar because people both need and want water in many ways. Oil can help to fly planes to father destinations also and water is just a necessity to life. They are both very important in our world.
